After some discussion about making a sequel to the original Sonic the Hedgehog, a fraction of the Sonic Team went to work with Sega of America's Sega Technical Institute. He is an anthropomorphic fox who, due to a genetic abnormality, was born with two distinct twin-tails, hence his nickname.
